SARIKEI: A car driver was injured after the car he was travelling in collided with a bus at KM31 Jalan Saratok-Sarikei here at 10.50pm on Tuesday.
Sarikei Fire Station chief, Suna Kaha said nine firefighters with two fire engines were rushed to the scene after they were informed of the incident at 11.20pm.
“Following the collision, the 31-year-old victim who drives a Honda car, sustained injuries while the bus driver and 37 passengers are not injured,” he said.
Suna said the victim was extricated from the wreckage and given treatment by EMRS personnel before he was handed over to the paramedics who took him a hospital for further treatment.
It was understood that the bus was heading to Sarikei from Saratok while the car was travelling along the road from the opposite lane at the time of the accident.
The cause of the accident was still under police investigation.
