SARIKEI: The Ministry for Women, Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development is taking important steps to empower women economically in the state.

These efforts aim to ensure that women can compete effectively and not be left behind in the development process.

Its minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said that one of the initiatives in place is the Female Head of Household Micro Assistance (KIRWaS) programme which provides cash aid to women, serving as additional capital for their businesses.

Fatimah also highlighted the Sarawak Women Empowerment Capital Grant that focuses on providing business equipment to women entrepreneurs, aiming to enhance productivity and increase their income.

She said this during an Engagement Session at Pusat Kemahiran Jahitan Komuniti here today (June 26).

The Dalat assemblywoman hopes that this session will serve as a platform for women here to connect with her ministry accessing the assistance and grants available.

Also present were Fatimah’s deputies Datuk Rosey Yunus and Mohammad Razi Sitam.
