These initiatives serve as a testament to their unwavering dedication to the betterment of the community.

The celebration also served as a reminder of the vibrant cultural identity of the Sarawak Rangers. The event culminated with a rousing speech by the Commanding Officer of 1 RRD, followed by the traditional cry of “Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban.” This cry symbolises the profound values of honor, loyalty, and fighting spirit that define the essence of the Sarawak Rangers.

Over time, they were formally organized into the Sarawak Rangers in 1953 and served as scouts alongside British units in Malaya. As Malaysia was formed on September 16, 1963, the unit transitioned from the British Colonial Forces to the Malaysian Army.

It subsequently expanded into a multi-battalion, multi-ethnic regiment known as ‘Renjer Malaysia,’ which later evolved into the ‘Rejimen Renjer’ in 1971.

Finally, in 1992, the unit was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Royal’ prefix, becoming the ‘Rejimen Renjer Diraja,’ or the Royal Ranger Regiment.
