GEDONG: The Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) has allocated RM150,000 to St. Michael’s Chapel Kepayang for the purpose of upgrading and renovating the church.

Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee attended the ceremony where the allocation was handed over at the chapel recently.

She hoped that the church committee members will use the allocation wisely to carry out the upgrading work.

Following that, Rodiyah also led a delegation on a working visit to Rumah Wanita Gedong to inspect the completed works of the said project.

It is understood that Rumah Wanita Gedong was constructed in 2020 and completed in 2021, costing RM500,000.

Meanwhile, she also presented a donation cheque amounting to RM20,000 to the Gedong Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIG).

The donation serves as the annual fund for the district-level Maulidur Rasul celebration in Gedong, which will take place for five days starting from September 25.
