KUCHING: A total of 47 final year students from seven Sarawak Zone Community Colleges participated in the ‘Unleash Your Confidence Programme and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ organised by Sarawak Community College recently.

The colleges are Mas Gading Community College, Kuching Community College, Santubong Community College, Betong Community College, Sarikei Community College, Sibu Branch Community College and Miri Community College.

Director of Mas Gading Community College Shirley Phillip said the programme is specially designed to expose students to the spirit of volunteering and broaden their minds as well as provide opportunities for students to relieve the pressure from routine learning in the classroom.

“Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is one of our efforts to expose KKMG students to the importance of a volunteer attitude among students. CSR programmes help in improving soft skills and have a positive impact on the participants.

“Additionally, this programme aims to provide external information that can be shared to boost self-motivation for academic and co-curricular excellence, allowing students to become more self-reliant and enthusiastic in their daily tasks.

“This programme is also part of the college’s CSR initiative to engage with and serve the community while strengthening the teamwork spirit among college staff and students,” Shirley said in a press statement today.

The three-day programme, led by Mas Gading Community College (KKMG), aims to develop human capital, ensuring a balanced and harmonious development of intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects among students.
