KUCHING: The state government has set up a committee to get more details on the Central Data Base Hub (PADU) process.

According to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the state government will get the details on the matter from the Ministry of Economy.

“The process will be looked into between Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

“With that, we will also hold a seminar to introduce the PADU process and we will improve the connectivity for us to enable our data to be sent to PADU,” he said.

He said this during the press conference after the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council Meeting at PBB Headquarters here today.

Following this, he also said that the state government will also find options to aid those in the rural areas that do not have connectivity.

“We will discuss the matter and find the options for it. If the area does not have connectivity, we will find other ways to get the data,” he assured.

For the record, PADU is a system containing individual and household profiles encompassing citizens and permanent residents in Malaysia.

PADU acts as a national database of socio-economic information for every household in the country, providing regular analytics with a comprehensive store of data updated in ‘near real time’.

The development of PADU is intended to allow for data-driven policymaking and decision-making, while enabling targeted policy implementation.
