MIRI: Members of the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Chapter have been urged to continue working together and to take the necessary constructive leadership roles to achieve their noble objectives.

“Many more areas of humanitarian efforts can still be explored locally and at higher level and to achieve the mandate of our movement, we have to work closely with vulnerable communities and support them to find long-term solutions while respecting their culture, hopes and aspirations,” said MRC Miri branch chairperson Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam during its 70th anniversary charity dinner celebration on Sunday.

He added the organisation’s smart partnership with the government was a powerful alliance which created an enormous potential for MRC Miri branch to engage with the humanitarian challenges.

Dr Chan also advised MRC’s senior members them to persevere and carry on with their good work in nurturing young members and inspiring them to become future leaders in the society.
