MARUDI: Police have arrested three men for alleged burglaries and thefts in a series of raids earlier this week.

Marudi police chief DSP Mohd Ruslan Mat Kib said that the arrests were made on Tuesday (Jan 30) by a joint team from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID).

Acting on information, the team conducted three raids at different locations, resulting in the arrests of three local men and the recovery of stolen goods

“A raid on a private house owned by one suspect yielded computers, various technologies, and tools believed to be used in the crime activities.

“In addition, a vehicle thought to be used in their criminal activities around Marudi, was also seized,” he said.

Background checks showed that the suspects, who all tested positive for drugs, had prior records related to criminal and drug offenses.

All three suspects are being remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to facilitate investigations.
