Cops seeking third suspect in Matang armed assault case

Police looking for Muhammad Aiman Yusri, 20, to facilitate investigations into the Matang armed assault case.

PADAWAN: Police are looking for a third individual in connection with the Matang armed assault case on Monday (Aug 21).

Padawan deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong identified the person as Muhammad Aiman Yusri, 20, from Kampung Semerah Padi, Semariang.

“He is wanted to assist in the investigation for allegedly causing serious injuries to a 30-something man at a premises in Matang around 1am.

“Members of the public who have information on the wanted individual, are urged to contact the district Criminal Investigation Division (CID) chief ASP Sylvarius Gopog at 013-8637241 or the investigating officer Insp Nyaum Ringkai at 016-6793703 or any of the nearest police station,” he said.

The police are also searching for two brothers who are allegedly involved in the same case. They are Affidi @ Adi Jamani, 34, and Suhaimi @ Pimping Jamani, 28.

So far, the police have arrested five men in connection with the assault, allegedly over a debt owed by the victim.

The case is being investigated under Sections 326 and 148 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt and rioting with weapons.
