LIMBANG: Police here are set to intensify patrols in residential areas to deter crimes, especially thefts and burglaries, during the Christmas celebration.
Limbang police chief Supt Parum Niot encouraged the community to cooperate by informing authorities about their holiday plans.
He said this proactive approach would assist the police in conducting thorough patrols in vacant areas.
“Considering the upcoming Christmas celebration, I advise residents to ensure their homes are secure and locked before leaving.
“If you plan to leave your house, please inform us at the Limbang District Police Headquarters (IPD) to facilitate patrols in the vacant houses,” he told reporters today (Dec 20).
In addition, he extended advice to road users returning to their villages during the holiday season, urging them to drive with caution to prevent any untoward incidents.
“I also advise the community, whether driving vehicles or riding motorcycles, to exercise caution and drive carefully,” he said.
