KUCHING: A stronger commitment to work in fighting crime will go a long way in boosting the people’s confidence in the police.

District Deputy Chief of Police Supt Merbin Lisa said it will also show that the police are ready to work non-stop in ensuring the community lives in peace and harmony.

Towards this end he called for cooperation and support from the IPD Kuching staff in going about their duties.

“As we make the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) our home, we must defend and contribute to it to ensure this organisation is always intact, strong and relevant with the passage of time,” he said during the monthly assembly here on Tuesday (May 17).

He reminded staff of their duties and roles in line with the three main focuses outlined by the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryil Sani Abdullah Sani.

He stated that police services to the community are not limited to inquiry counters at the police station or roadblocks but applied everywhere when there was interaction with the community.
