Council lists mandatory health conditions for area

MUKAH: The health conditions that are mandatory to open the operation of eateries, restaurants, food stalls, food business and bakery shops are the main conditions for Licensing (Food) in the area under the jurisdiction of the Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM), said a representative of Mukah and Dalat District Council (MDDM) Mohamad Nazir Basir.

“Owners must undergo a health examination every year (licence renewal and when the licence is approved), Get an Anti-typhoid injection at a health clinic or a private clinic recognised by the Ministry of Health (1/2/3 Year Dose).

“Attending, undergoing, appreciating the Food Handler Training Course and getting a Food Handler Training Certificate from the Food Handler Training School recognised by the Ministry of Health are necessary.

In addition, he on behalf of MDDM Mukah, informed that the three mandatory conditions above must be complied with in addition to the Council Policies (MDDM) related to restaurant operations.

He said that the Food Handler Training Course at MDDM on January 14, 2023 was successfully attended by more than 50 participants, from which they gained the latest knowledge as well as reinforcing their health knowledge that was already available before.

“The policy is a ban on the use of polystyrene containers in restaurants, Food Handler Training Course Certificate valid for 5 years in the MDDM area effective on 1.1.2020, obligation to use Food Traps (food traps) and Grease Traps (Oil) in restaurant kitchens, providing hot water service facilities for customers, which is to soak the eating utensils in a container filled with hot water before the customer uses them,” he added.
