KUCHING: Dr Hazland Abang Hipni hopes young voters would make the right choice in the 15th general election (GE15), particularly the battle for the Santubong parliamentary seat.
“I believe they will make a wise decision because we have made various efforts to guide them since primary school,” said the Demak Laut assemblyman.
“We have provided a variety of assistance such as free extra classes in mosques, organising programmes and giving large funds to the parent-teacher associations of schools in the area to carry out various activities for the development of human capital,” the Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability added.
He said this when met by the media after the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs), Ethos and Intertek in conjunction with Green Future Sarawak 2022.
He also emphasised that the main focus in the Santubong parliamentary constituency was education and economic development.
“Education and the economy have a close relationship. If the level of education increases, the level of the economy will also increase.”
Demak Laut is a state constituency under the Santubong parliamentary constituency.
Santubong will be contested by Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri after incumbent Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar elected not to defend his seat.
