MIRI: A 25 year-old local man was detained on Saturday night for grabbing a housewife’s buttocks.
The incident reportedly happened inside a unit of a Quadruplex flat in Permyjaya on Friday around 12.30 am.
Prior to the incident, the suspect had come to look for the victim’s husband in her flat unit.
However, when he was informed by the victim that her husband was not around, the suspect suddenly grabbed her buttocks.
Terrified by the act, the 25 year-old housewife shouted for help. The suspect immediately fled off the scene after that.
According to Miri Police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, a team of personnel from the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led by DSP Loh Wooi Kee detained the suspect at about 11.30 pm yesterday at a house at Jalan Ketapang 7, Tudan Phase 5.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code and Section 447 of the Penal Code.
