BALINGIAN: Various development projects that have been completed, and currently being implemented here, are slowly changing the landscape of this sub-district.

This is in line with the sub-district’s ambition to gain full district status by 2026, as envisaged by Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.

He said Balingian had been allocated a few projek rakyat (community projects).

They are, among others, the RNR Matading, upgrading of the sub-district office building and the Anjung Selera Balingan.

“In terms of infrastructure, there is a junction to Bayan Ulu, water supply project (water treatment plant), electrification being implemented, and rural transformation programme projects that have been and being implemented that have changed the development landscape in Balingian,” he said at an agriculture outreach programme on Monday (Aug 24).

On the programme, Abdul Yakub said the agriculture sector could bring positive impact to the people, and if developed further, could generate good income to those involved.

According to him, various innovations had been made in agriculture in line with the country’s progress, for example, the fertigation system.
