KOTA SAMARAHAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced the commencement of the eMadani eWallet registration on Monday.

This initiative is benefitting 10 million eligible adults within the B40 and M40 income groups, offering a one-time eWallet credit of RM100.

Four eWallet providers are participating in the initiative: Mae by Maybank2u, Setel, ShopeePay, and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

Eligibility for this benefit requires Malaysian citizenship and an age of 21 years or older.

New Sarawak Tribune conducted interviews with several users to gather insights on the impact of the initiative.

JACQUELINE MASHIN, 21,

Housewife

I plan to spend the RM100 eMadani money on children’s necessities. To meet the needs of the children, I use the eMadani eWallet.

COLINA IEE, 48,

Office assistant

I withdrew the money from the eMadani eWallet and spent it at the supermarket using the ShopeePay app. It’s very important to supplement our daily meals while waiting for the end of the month, by utilising RM100 from eMadani.

MOHD SHAHRIL SHARIEE, 30,

Private employee

I used the RM100 from the eWallet to purchase household basics. It might also help increase our family’s expenses.

SURIATY BETTY ABDULLAH, 42,

Part-time worker

I use the eMadani eWallet to buy necessities for our household. I also spent RM100 on medicines for our family in case of emergencies.

AYREDALE SYERA, 24,

The eMadani eWallet is used to purchase necessities like food and toiletries. The purchases are intended to bolster our stock of items until the end of the month.
