KUCHING: A woman driving towards Sibu was involved in a freak accident that saw her car land in a river along Jalan Serdeng in Tanjung Manis.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident occurred at approximately 10:45am, prompting a distress call to be made to the department.
The Tanjung Manis Fire and Rescue Station swiftly dispatched its firefighters to the scene, which was about 31 kilometres away.
“Upon arrival, the woman had already managed to escape from her vehicle and was unharmed.”
According to Bomba, the woman, believed to be a doctor, lost control of her car before it crashed into the river.
Following the rescue operation, the firemen made sure the area was safe before returning to the station.
