Dr Hazland hands over funds to 15 NGOs

KUCHING: Contributions totalling RM120,000 have been presented to 15 local non-governmental organisations (NGOs), recently.

Presented by Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, the funds are for the yearly activities of the NGOs in the constituency.

Dr Hazland, who is also Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, encouraged each beneficiary to make the best use of the funds, which can help members either directly or indirectly in community work efforts.

The Islamic Welfare Association Malaysia (PERKIM), Sarawak Taekwondo Association (WTF), Zikir, Hadrah An-Nur Group, and Sarawak Matriculation College are among the NGOs that received the donation.

Other recipients include the Chung Hua Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), Al-Quran Teachers Association, ZDance Kuching Club, Kuching District Office Welfare and Social Fund, SABERKAS (State) Staff Social Club, Staff Welfare and Recreation Club, Rohairi Zikir Group, Suara Bhakti Zikir Group Association, Kesatuan Pembantu Makmal (Pelajaran) Negeri Sarawak, Sri Muara Regional Fisherman’s Association (PNK), and Taman Seri Putri Kuching Welfare Staff Institutional Club.
