The scene of the fatal crash that claimed the life of a pickup truck driver in Serian.

SERIAN: A pickup truck driver died after she was thrown out of her vehicle in an accident along Sungai Rayang bridge, Jalan Serian-Kuching last night (Sept 13).

The victim, identified as 44-year-old Nalasip Adoh, was found underneath the vehicle that landed on the driver’s side.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Serian station were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 8.37 pm.

When they arrived, the team proceeded to remove the victim from underneath the vehicle and handed her over to the paramedics.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, a a 40-year-old passenger was rescued out of the vehicle by passers-by before the team arrived.

He was also taken to Serian Hospital for treatment.

The team conducted flushing works at the scene to ensure that the road is clear from oil spill and debris before concluding the operation at 10 pm.
