KUCHING: A man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle which crashed into a tree, causing the car to turn upside down during the wee hours of the morning (Feb 10).

The Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) received a call at 4.49 am about the accident near the Hui Sing Garden roundabout.

A rescue team from the Batu Lintang Bomba station was mobilised to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the operations commander reported that there was a flipped car at the roundabout which was said to have crashed into a tree.

“There was a victim who was still in the car at the time and the team proceeded to extricate the victim,” said a Bomba spokesman.

A hydraulic rescue tool was used to extricate the driver. However, medical officials at the scene pronounced the male victim, Ho Ching Siong, 36, dead.

His remains were handed over to the police for further action.
