KAPIT: The body of a foreign boat crew with one of the cargo vessel here who fell into the Rajang River last Friday morning at around 10:30 am was found by the search and rescue team mounted by the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) Kapit and Song yesterday morning.

The body was discovered by members of the public at Nanga Sekala, Batang Rajang below Song town at about 9:44 am who later informed the rescue teams led by Budiman from BOMBA Kapit and Frederick Aok from BOMBA Song.

BOMBA boat took the remains later to Kapit Hospital at 9.56am and arrived at Kapit jetty at 11.08am and was later sent to Kapit Hospital mortuary in a police vehicle for a post mortem.

The victim was identified as ArratanaWelegedara, a 27-year-old male from Sri Lanka. He was reported to have fallen from a cargo vessel where he was working that was berthed at the cargo ramp located across the waterfront of the Kapit New Bazaar.
