SIBU: Police detained two men in connection with the murder of a 46-year old man on Monday night.

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili when contacted today said they were arrested on the second day after the incident.

“They were detained on Tuesday (Aug 1) night and subsequently brought to the court the next morning where they are remanded for seven days until Aug 7,” he said.

Zulkipli stressed that their remand was to assist in police investigations into the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

“A post-mortem conducted at Hospital Sibu on the victim revealed that he died from eight gunshot wounds,” he added.

Pang Neng Hua was gunned down at the gate of his family’s orchard on Sunday, after having supper with two friends aged 46 and 36.

The motive behind the killing has not been disclosed yet, as the case remains under investigation.

Pang was rushed to the hospital by family members and friends but succumbed to his wounds.
