The eight-day Satria Perkasa FTX being carried out by members of the Third Infantry Brigade at open areas in Lundu.

LUNDU: The recently concluded eight-day ‘Satria Perkasa-Field Training Exercise’ (FTX) in an open area here, aimed to assess the proficiency of the Third Infantry Brigade in conventional warfare.

In a statement issued by the First Infantry Division, the FTX, held from Mar 1 to 8, evaluated the brigade’s firepower, strength, capabilities, and movements in defending their areas of responsibility.

The exercise also focused on enhancing both individual and collective skills necessary to fulfil the vision and mission of the Third Infantry Brigade.

The FTX served to gauge the efficiency of command and control, as well as logistical management, at both formation and unit levels. Its objectives included improving coordination effectiveness in tactical manoeuvres, mobility, and the integration of combined firepower.

During the exercise’s closing ceremony last Friday, Army Eastern Field Command Commander Lt-Gen Datuk Mohd Sofi Md Lepi said that the exercise was in line with the Armed Forces’ goal of continuously enhancing the combat readiness of its troops.

Aside from that, it also aimed to foster camaraderie and cooperation among military officers and personnel of various ranks.

He also expressed gratitude to the Sarawak government, district officers, and local community leaders for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout the exercise and, congratulated all of the troops involved in executing the exercise.

Overall, the FTX has provided invaluable exposure, knowledge in tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as valuable experience for all participants.

Also present were First Infantry Division Commander Maj-Gen Datuk Mohamed Fauzi Kamis, Ninth Infantry Division Commander Brig-Gen Ahmad Norzaini Badrun, and 31st Infantry Brigade Commander Brig-Gen Kamarulzaman Mohd Yunos.
