PUSA: The implementation of free higher education starting in 2026, presenting a unique opportunity for Sarawak’s youth.

Batang Lupar MP, Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, emphasised the government’s dedication to educational advancement.

“This initiative ensures that no child is left behind in pursuing higher education,” he said at the meeting with parents at SMK Pusa on Thursday.

Highlighting the crucial role of academic excellence, Shafizan urged students to leverage their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) results for higher education opportunities.

“Your efforts now lay the groundwork for future success,” he added.

State’s higher education institutions, including Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak University of Technology (UTS), Curtin University, i-CATS University College, and the Sarawak Technical Excellence Center (CENTEXS), offer courses aligned with industry needs, especially in STEM and Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) fields.

“These areas hold vast career potential,” Shafizan said.

He also urged parents to actively engage in their children’s education to shape a brighter future. In recognition of academic achievement, 48 SPM 2022 candidates received excellence incentives during the event.
