KUCHING: Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Demak Laut branch remains committed to implementing diverse programmes that empower youth and contribute to the overall prosperity of the region.

In an effort to nurture future leaders and active contributors to society, the branch has planned a series of impactful programmes for youth and the community.

According to a statement, various initiatives have been implemented.
under the leadership of SABERKAS Demak Laut, consisting of 31 units across 31 villages with 2,001 registered members.

This is aimed at encouraging community involvement and healthy activities among the youth as each Saberkas unit in the Demak Laut area has its own plans for conducting programmes.

Recently, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Hipni officiated at the ‘Program Santai Belia Bersama Komuniti’ in Tabuan Darat for Series 2, when he highlighted the importance of instilling a spirit of community service among the youth while engaging in such activities.

He added that such programmes also lay the foundation for a generation that not only excels in personal development but also actively contributes to the well-being of society.

At the same programme, Saberkas Tabuan Darat organised an esports event featuring a PUBG mobile tournament, with a total of 60 youths joining the competition.

In addition, 31 needy individuals also received food basket contributions from Demak Laut 4×4 Club and Saberkas Demak laut branch, in which Dr Hazland said this can give exposure to the youth and learn how to serve the community.

Chairman of Saberkas Unit Tabuan Darat Saruji Deli, village head Amzah Dollah, village chief of Kampung Tabuan Lama Asrol Bujang Lapok, village chiefs of Tabuan Melayu and all Saberkas Tabuan Darat committee members were also present during the programme.
