KOTA SAMARAHAN: A woman died on the spot after she fell into the oncoming lane from her motorcycle while trying to avoid a bus that stopped in the middle of the road along KM13, Jalan Kota Samarahan-Mambong today (June 5).
Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Sudirman Kram in a statement, said the fatal accident happened around 7.30am when the victim was riding her motorcycle alone from Mile 15, Siburan to Kota Samarahan.
Investigation found out that the victim was trying to avoid a bus in front which had stopped.
“However, she fell from her motorcycle and slid into the opposite lane where an oncoming car crashed into her,” he said.
“As a result, the victim identified as Vong Suh Eng, 23, was pronounced dead by paramedics due to head injuries,” said the local police chief.
Sudirman said the body was taken to the hospital for post-mortem.
At the time of the incident, it was drizzling and the road was wet.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987
