KUCHING: The Maal Hijrah 1444H/2022 Festival organised by the State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) is a platform to promote the mosque as well as a healthy lifestyle based on religious values.

In stating this, LAKMNS chief executive officer Datuk Abang Wahap Abang Julai said the festival had featured programmes that emphasised spirituality, family, sports and so on.

“Therefore, the organisation of this festival is innovative and dynamic for LAKMNS to approach the community, especially the youth to be closer to the mosque institution,” he said.

He said this during the closing of the LAKMNS Maal Hijrah festival at Masjid Jamek Sarawak today.

He said that the festival which was held from July 29 to July 31 had received an overwhelming response from the visitors.

“It is not only in terms of the participation of the programme, but also in terms of the number of visitors coming here to join the festival,” he said.
