KUCHING: A family of ten persons was left homeless after a fire gutted their house in Kampung Tabuan Lot, Tabuan Melayu here Saturday evening (May 15).
Sarawak Fire Department assistant director of operations Henderi Ardimanshah said the department received a distress call at 6.35 pm pertaining to the incident.
Firemen from Tabuan Jaya and Padungan stations were promptly despatched to the scene.
Upon arriving, they found that the single storey house was already razed to the ground.
No casualties were reported as all members of the family managed to get out to safety when the fire occurred.
The flames were controlled and extinguished in about half an hour.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are yet to be ascertained.
