KUCHING: A fire broke out at the Taman Malihah in Matang this morning (Nov 2).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a call at 11.10 am regarding the incident and promptly dispatched a team from Petra Jaya and Padungan fire station to the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was confirmed that a fire had occurred in a permanent structure terrace house, primarily in the kitchen area, with no casualties involved.
The fire affected 90 per cent of the 20×60 feet house.
The team extinguished it using a 300-foot hose and 2 nozzles with water supply from the fire engine pump.
The firefighters also requested assistance from Sarawak energy to disconnect the electricity supply to facilitate the firefighting operation which concluded at 12.07pm.
