SEMANTAN: A total of 100 fishermen’s children here have received basic school supplies and RM150 vouchers.

Malaysia Fisheries Development Board (LKIM) chairman Muhammad Faiz Fadzil said that this initiative was aimed at alleviating financial burdens on fishermen families.

“LKIM is committed to assisting fishermen’s children in returning to school by providing school supplies.

“This is to ensure the welfare and future of our fishermen and their families are well taken care of. It also aims to offer these children a chance at a more comfortable future,” he said when officiating the Children of Fishermen Back to School Programme, held at the Chung Hua Association Hall here yesterday (Mar 4).

This collaborative effort involves the LKIM, Petronas Dagang Berhad, and the National Fishermen’s Association (NEKMAT), which collectively contributed school essentials including bags, caps, water bottles, notebooks, and writing tools.

Additionally, each children receives RM150, amounting to a total contribution of RM15,000.
