SARIKEI: Five agricultural roads here will be upgraded early next year for the benefit of farmers in the area.
According to Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, the project involving Sungai Merudu, Sungai Paoh, Sungai Tapang Tabao, Sungai Kawan Merudu and Jalan Baron is made possible due to the approved allocation of RM690,000 from Sarawak Land Development Board (SLDB).
“This project will start early next year and will be completed within eight months.
“Its completion will facilitate the farmers in planting their crops and increasing their incomes,” he said in a statement today.
For the record, the project was handed over to J&E Construction Sdn Bhd.
