KUCHING: Set aside any dispute or disappointment and focus on ensuring a big win for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in Puncak Borneo.

This is the clarion call by GPS youth chief and Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh at the official launch of GPS Puncak Borneo 15th general election (GE15) Election Machinery in Kampung Sinjok, Siburan near here.

“Let’s focus on the bigger agenda that is to ensure GPS wins most, if not all, of the 31 seats at stake, Puncak Borneo included.

“Let’s unite and synergise our strength and energy on delivering Puncak Borneo with a handsome win. Do not allow any dispute or disappointment to become cancerous that would distract us from achieving our goal to win the seat,” he said.

Miro did not elaborate but it was clear that his statement was made in reference to talks of alleged disunity among PBB members resulting from the active lobbying by aspiring candidates prior to the official announcement of the GPS candidate line-up on Nov 3.

Equating GPS supporters and members to soldiers in a war, he cautioned “we did not go to war to be defeated but to win and win handsomely”.

On the same note, Miro appealed to all components of GPS in the constituency to unite in ensuring a big win for GPS candidate.

“Don’t just look at the candidate. Give due importance to the GPS logo and GPS strength in ensuring greater development for the people in the area,” he said.

He said GPS has an excellent track record, adding it has also proven to be a stable and strong party.
