BINTULU: The Christian community here has been urged to utilise the festive occasion to reinforce familial bonds, foster brotherhood, and cultivate friendships.

Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said the importance of Christmas as a unifying force across diverse racial and religious backgrounds in Malaysia.

“Despite our varied cultures and religions, our country is renowned for its peaceful coexistence. This harmonious living is crucial, and we must protect it,” Tiong said at the Pre-Christmas celebration of the Iban Sungai Plan Methodist Church, represented by his Special Officer Steven Kong Kai Seng recently.

He further encouraged the community to use events like Christmas as a foundation for strengthening brotherhood without discrimination.

Tiong hoped that Christmas and similar celebrations serve as valuable platforms for people from all walks of life to unite and foster a sense of belonging.
