TEBEDU: Four of the six houses that make up the Program Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin (PPRT) – housing programme for the poor and hardcore poor here – are fully constructed and ready for those eligible to move in.

The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) reported that the other two houses are around 70 per cent complete.

The Serian Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID) and Tebedu District Office hope to complete the two houses in the next two weeks.

Yesterday (Jan 18), DID conducted a survey on the housing area. The inspection was done to make sure the contractor complies with the standards specified by the department.

For the record, a PPRT house can cost up to RM68,000 to build, including the cost of connecting power and water supply.
