Free chicken rice at Kedai Bajet for two weeks

KUCHING: Hope Place’s Kedai Bajet (Budget Store) here began handing out free packed food on Monday and it will do so for two weeks.

Hope Place stated that the chicken rice with be available from 11am onwards from Monday to Saturday.

“The shop is opposite the Road Transport Department building at Mile 11, Jalan Kuching-Serian. The food is for those who are still struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There are 50 packets available, it will be given based on a first-come-first-serve basis,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The charity organisation said the chicken rice is sponsored by a few generous locals.

“The sponsors are namely the Siew family, Ngui Cheng Yew and his family, Changi Construction Sdn Bhd and Empress Buddhism Group.

“We truly appreciate the generosity and kindness of these sponsors,” it said.
