BINTULU: The public is advised to get health screenings for early disease prevention and maintain overall health.

Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming said regular health check-ups for all individuals, regardless of age, was important to prevent contracting diseases.

“This programme, supported by private clinics and pharmacies with the assistance of the federal Ministry of Health (MOH), aims to monitor public health.

“Those interested in the health screening must present their Identity Card to participate,” he told reporters after undergoing a screening at the Sihat Sarawakku programme at Boulevard Shopping Mall here on Friday.

He hoped the programme would raise public awareness about healthcare for all races.

Pang explained that the health screening programme is an initiative of the Sarawak government to promote public awareness and knowledge about the importance of health care, particularly among the B40 group.

He thanked Sihat Sarawakku for organising the Free Health Screening Tour Programme in partnership with Tanjong Batu State Constituency Service Centre and private clinics in three locations at Boulevard Shopping Mall Bintulu on July 21, SJK Sebiew Chinese Bintulu on July 22, and Dinner World Restaurant on July 23.
