KUCHING: Despite the lack of visible above-ground construction activities for the Gita area drainage system project, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman has assured that work is indeed progressing beneath the surface.

Fazzrudin had acknowledged receiving numerous complaints from the public about the deteriorating conditions of roads affected by the construction. In response, he had facilitated a series of meetings and site visits in collaboration with the Sewerage Services Department Sarawak and the project contractor to address the concerns.

He confirmed that the department had committed to ensuring safety precautions and adequate signage at the construction site. Moreover, road repairs will be conducted as an integral part of the project’s completion.

“I have also discussed with them the importance of promptly repairing any significant road damage while the project is underway,” Fazzrudin said in a Facebook post today.

He reassured the community that, despite appearances, construction work is actively continuing underground.

Fazzrudin urged residents to remain vigilant when traversing the affected roads and committed to maintaining regular communication with the relevant departments and the contractor to provide updates.
