PADAWAN: The Raya Glamping @ Borneo Highlands is bringing a twist to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
Around 110 campers are taking part in this event happening this weekend (Apr 20 to 21).
Glamping is similar to camping where individuals or groups of people gather to enjoy the nature atmosphere, and community engagement.
Borneo Glamping co-founder, Awang Saifeluddin said the purpose of this event is to show that glamping is a lifestyle that even can be done during festive seasons.
“This is so that people can come together and enjoy the Raya festive feeling during the glamping itself” he said when met on Saturday.
He pointed out that glamping is the future for eco-tourism which aligns with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“Glamping is one of the ways where we have the community directly involved in it,” he said.
The event was open to the public with various activities lined up. These activities include kayaking, kite flying, movie night and star gazing.
