KUALA LUMPUR: Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) emphasis is the stability of the government, said Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Following the coalitions and parties that form the Malaysian Unity Government which signed a Cooperation Agreement here yesterday to ensure political stability and drive the country’s economy, Premier said Anwar could bring about the strong federal government that will help the country to recover from the problems faced after COVID-19.

“The Sarawak party subscribes to that (stability).

“And the most important thing is for Malaysia to be stable and then we have to boost the country’s economy. This is our top priority,” he said in a press conference after the signing ceremony.

Abang Johari, who is also the GPS chairman, said the party trust Anwar to pursue the development agenda and transform the economy.

“Next year, it is projected that our economy would not be performing well, and we need all these efforts to help Malaysia regain its position in this economic reformation,” he said.

“Furthermore, our Prime Minister, with vast background and experience carries out the efforts for the betterment of the country which consists of various races and religions,” said Abang Johari.
