BAU: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg wants a clean sweep of all three parliamentary seats in the Bidayuh majority areas by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the 15th general election.

The three parliamentary seats are Mas Gading, Puncak Borneo and Serian.

“I want to say thank you to the Bidayuh community, and I hope this election, we can ‘sapu semua’ (win all) the Bidayuh majority seats,” he said when attending the Gawai Open House 2022 at Dewan Suarah Bau here today.

Abang Johari, who is also GPS chairman, called on the people in the constituency to give their fullest support to the GPS candidate who will contest in Mas Gading, and ensure a big victory for GPS.

“You have seen what you get with the opposition, they don’t deliver what they say including planning. You lose.

“Luckily, in GPS, we have Henry (Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep) and other elected representatives (to bring developments),” he said.

He added that the respective components in GPS were working hand in hand and were not quarrelling among themselves.

“So far so good, when a party is strong, our voices are stronger,” he said.

The Mas Gading seat is currently being held by Mordi Bimol of Democratic Action Party (DAP), Puncak Borneo by Datuk Willie Mongin of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) while Serian incumbent is Datuk Richard Riot Jaem of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP).
