Hand gets broken after stuck in machine

The rescue team trying to remove the victim's left hand that is stuck in the mixing machine on Saturday.

SIMANGGANG: A bakery worker had to endure a full 40-minute of suffering when his hand got stuck in a mixing machine while doing cleaning work here, yesterday.

Sri Aman zone three Fire and Rescue Department chief Ramlan Marajan said the incident happened at the Pertama Bakery factory involving an employee named Mohd Arif Ahmad.

“Firefighters were called to remove the victim’s hand at about 10:31am.

“Our party led by Noor Faqriakmal Jamari disassembled the components of the machine to remove the victim’s hand with the help of workshop workers.

“The operation was completed at 11:08 am and the victim’s hand was broken,” he said.

He was later handed over to the medical team and rushed to Sri Aman Hospital for further treatments.

It was learnt that Mohd Arif was cleaning the machine prior to the accident.

Also at the location was the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sri Aman Division team.
