KUCHING: Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib, the wife of late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, expressed her sadness over the passing of her husband.
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of my husband, YABhg Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud early this morning. No words could describe how much he meant to me.
“May your soul be blessed and placed among the righteous in paradise. Al-Fatihah,” she posted on her Instagram account.
Taib, the former Head of State, passed away at approximately 4.40 am at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur today.
The Sarawak government has announced two days of mourning (Feb 21 and 22).
All official functions involving entertainment events are to be postponed, and Sarawak flags are to be flown at half-mast.
