KUCHING: The achievement and recognition of Sarawak as a high-income state by the World Bank reflects the dedicated efforts of Sarawakians and their leaders.
Federal Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri pointed out that Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has been working hard to improve Sarawak’s economy.
“The Premier has been exploring new economic activities based on Sarawak’s rich resources. We owe this achievement to the outstanding leadership of our state,” she said in a statement today.
Nancy said one key factor contributing to this accomplishment is Sarawak’s political stability.
She said this instils confidence in both local and international investors.
“The fact that Sarawak has been chosen as a venue for various international events demonstrates the trust and interest of people not just from West Malaysia, but from around the world,” she said.
