KUCHING: A man is still looking for his brother who went missing 17 years ago.

In a social media posting dated April 18, Mohd Hashimy took to Facebook and appealed to the members of the public to help him locate his brother, Darwis Sumala Suratman, who was last seen in Kuala Lumpur in 2006.

“Kat mana pun kau .. balik lah .. aku pun tak tahu kau ada lagi tak. Mak tengah tunggu .. selagi Mak masih ada, balik lah. Aku tak pernah berhenti mencari .. bapa dah meninggal (Wherever you are, please come back while Mom is still alive. I never stopped looking. Dad has passed away),” said Hashimy in the media posting.

17 years ago, Darwis, a Sarawakian, was 22 years old, resided at Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur and worked as a contract staff for the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

Since Darwis’ mysterious disappearance, Hashimy had, without fail, taken to Facebook every single year to appeal to the public to help him locate his missing brother.

“I believe in the power of the internet. I have not given up searching for my brother just yet,” he said.

At the time of writing, the post had garnered over 16,000 shares.

Hashimy has appealed to anyone with information to contact him via Facebook at Mohd Hashimy.
