KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching visited a bedridden stroke patient and his family recently after being informed by a Sarawak General Hospital Social Welfare officer.

Bong Ching Tse, 35, suffered a stroke last October and lives with his mother and younger brother.

The non-governmental organisation (NGO) said Bong also had a major operation last year and was hospitalised for two months end of last year and, currently, he is unable to talk and only moves a little.

“Bong’s mother is now taking care of him at home. Bong’s father died when Bong was only three years old.

“Years ago, being a widow with two very young boys, Bong’s mother became a tailor to make ends meet. Bong, who used to be a car mechanic, now has to depend on his brother, who is a handphone salesman, to earn income for the family,” Hope Place said in a statement, today.

The NGO is supplying Bong special milk powder supplements, recommended by doctors. which he consumes five to six times daily. Sometimes he eats watery rice porridge.
