Hot weather persists, thunderstorms possible

The weather status for Sarawak as of Sunday, April 16, 4.30pm.

KUCHING: It is essential to stay hydrated as Sarawak is expected to continue experiencing hot weather until the end of the coming week.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), most areas in Sarawak have recorded a weather temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and below as of 4.30pm today (Apr 16). However, the temperature in Marudi has reached between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.

As of today at 5 pm, the weather temperature in Kuching had reached 32 degrees Celsius. The hot weather is expected to persist in Kuching tomorrow (Apr 17), with the maximum temperature reaching as high as 32 degrees Celsius. The forecast predicts no rain throughout the day.

From April 18 to 22, the weather is expected to be sunny in the morning and there will be no rain at night, while isolated thunderstorms are predicted in the afternoon. Several districts in the state are also predicted to have no rainfall for a few days this week.
