KUCHING: Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL), a multi-disciplinary construction specialist based in Sarawak, has launched a new website.   The firm is giving computer and mobile device users a more engaging browsing experience through a new custom interface that automatically optimises to different screen formats. HSL was one of the first Sarawakian companies to launch a website over a decade ago.

Its new website comes as information sources have grown beyond traditional media to also include social media platforms. Managing director, Dato Paul Yu Chee Hoe, said the website offered a unified platform for all things HSL. He said that the new website is the best place for HSL updates and that all announcements and press releases will be featured on the homepage.

“Besides that the website will also gather news reports from other portals making it easy for everyone to keep track of updates,” said Yu. According to Yu the IT team and social media communicators have been working hard for several months to revamp the design and optimise content delivery. The corporate page emphasises photos, 360-degree virtual galleries and videos.

The page also has links to HSL’s social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. Yu said the team have trialled different types of content on social media to see what gets the best response and so far, the 360-degree tours of their shophouses have proven popular and that they have included all these galleries on the website’s property page.

Assistant corporate affairs manager Russell Ting said new videos shot with 4k cameras and drones have been commissioned for the website. “We are excited to share our videos, which are the best way for the public to have a better grasp of large-scale projects,” Ting said.

According to Ting, the company has delivered many firsts like the longest under river runner in Malaysia for package one of the Kuching centralised sewerage system, Sarawak’s first underpass and flyover interchange, the Fina recognised Pandelela Aquatic Centre — just to name a few. All these are featured online. He added the corporate social responsibility role of the company was given equal emphasis on the website.
