MUKAH: The Ibans, especially those living in rural areas in Tellian constituency, still need development and they want a stable government led by the current Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to continue ruling the state so that they could enjoy continuity in development.

They want Tellian incumbent Yussibnosh Balo to be renominated as GPS candidate to defend his seat in the upcoming 12th Sarawak election.

On Monday (Nov 22), some Iban community leaders briefly gathered in front of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tellian branch office here to show their support for Yussibnosh.

Penghulu Mawar Awang said it could not be denied that development had reached their areas such as road and others including minor rural projects (MRP).

“Other development are also being proposed by Tellian incumbent Yussibnosh Balo for our areas,” he said commenting on the gathering on Tuesday (Nov 23).

Mawar, who is also Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tellian branch publicity chief, said Yussibnosh was cooperative and approachable.

He added the Tellian incumbent also listened to the people’s problems and helped them to the best of his ability.

He said the Ibans, who were also loyal GPS supporters, still wanted Yussibnosh to continue serving in Tellian and did not want other political parties to represent them.
