KUCHING: The name of the state representative in the Internal Revenue Board (IRB) will be finalised soon, said Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

She said the matter is still awaiting finalisation in a meeting, probably in the next one or two weeks.

“The Prime Minister and our Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will preside over a meeting of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Special Committee soon.

“All of this matter will be discussed further. God’s willing, everything will run smoothly.

“Therefore, we wait for an announcement by the Premier himself on our state representative in IRB,” she said.

She pointed this out when asked by reporters on whether the representative had been accepted or not after officiating the closing ceremony of Women Empowerment programme at Dewan Serbaguna Kolej Komuniti here today.

In the meantime, she stated that the committee will continue to negotiate on the MA63 matter, including the special grant authorised under Article 112D of the Federal Constitution, where the committee has provided the federal government with the special formula to review it.

“We are still waiting for the decision on other issues such as the judicial administration, and we also requested an increase of parliamentary seats for Sarawak and many others.

“God willing, everything is working at its finest,” she said.
