KUCHING: There are still a number of issues relating to land disputes and overlapping claims involving development carried out in Bintulu, says Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talip Zulpilip.

Several current issues and development plans in Bintulu were discussed and highlighted during Talip and his entourage’s courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“It is undeniable that there are problems in development plans. For example, such as land, people will want to fight for that land or overlapping claims occurs and this is some of the matters that we have presented to the Premier,” said Talip when met by reporters after the courtesy visit at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, today (April 10).

He added that among the developments implemented in Bintulu is the Bintulu-Jepak Bridge construction project, the Jepak Jaya development project involving more than 8,300 housing lots and an administrative center.

“This is a very big project and for that reason, we discuss with the Premier from time to time.
